Our Partnerships
EnergyAustralia has partnerships with a wide range of community and business groups. The organisations we support include those in education, medical research, emergency and rescue services, sport, arts, social welfare, industry, and the environment. This reflects the broad and diverse nature of our customers and stakeholders.
EnergyAustralia Partnership Strategy
As a leading energy company EnergyAustralia is committed to sustainability. We want to leave a positive legacy for future generations that we can be proud of.
So we are doing what we can to minimise our impact on the environment and continuing to find ways to help our customers do the same.
To raise awareness of this important issue we want our community partnerships to reflect this endeavour.
So that our partnerships align with this strategy and to help potential sponsor applicants develop their proposal we ask that you complete the Partnership Application Form.
Please read the following guidelines before completing your submission.
Objectives and Key Considerations
Generally, a partnership is a sponsorship activity that benefits the community and helps build a relationship with EnergyAustralia and the community. Therefore, EnergyAustralia looks for proposals that offer:
- Alignment with the EnergyAustralia business strategy:
- Sustainability and energy efficiency
- Safety and reliability of service
- Industry leadership
- Community development
- Education and skills development
- Visibility within the community
- Geographic alignment with EnergyAustralia’s customer base
- Leverage and links to existing EnergyAustralia partnerships or programs
- Activity that creates a positive consumer attitude towards EnergyAustralia
- New channels for valued customer contact
EnergyAustralia does not consider charitable donations or advertising as sponsorships or partnerships.
Partnership Application Form
All partnership requests will not be considered without a Partnership Application Form being fully completed.

EnergyAustralia receives requests from many organisations and individuals each year seeking support for worthwhile initiatives and programs.
While selection criteria as outlined above may be met, it should be noted that EnergyAustralia may have commercial considerations and finite resources that may preclude the acceptance of these requests.
EnergyAustralia Staff Community Involvement
 | In concert with our partnership programs we run with external organisations EnergyAustralia also invests in the local community through our staff.
This year EnergyAustralia launched its CommunityCare Program.
This program has been designed by our people with the specific aim of delivering grassroots assistance to the community organisations that our staff members choose to support. |
CommunityCare is a multi-layered community investment program that allows EnergyAustralia to extend the contribution our people are already making in the communities in which they live and work.
Staff can apply to one of our Regional Employee Community Committees, where a panel of their peers can approve one of two types of assistance:
- “We match your Energy” offers a small cash grant to those community organisations where our people volunteer
- “More than Energy” offers practical help for local community organisations where our staff volunteer by providing in-kind technical support delivered exclusively by our apprentices.
In addition to this, EnergyAustralia’s Payroll Giving Program allows employees to donate to a charity of their choice via payroll deductions.
EnergyAustralia measures and manages its community investment program using the London Benchmarking Group (LBG) framework and is an active member of LBG Australia New Zealand.
Corporate Responsibility Index
The Corporate Responsibility Index (CRI) is an annual survey that measures a company's positive impact on society and the environment through its operations, products or services and through its interaction with key stakeholders such as employees, customers, investors, communities and suppliers. It is a publicly reported index prepared by a consortium of the St James Ethics Centre, the Business Community (UK), the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age and Ernst & Young. Find out more.
EnergyAustralia's commitment to the community was reinforced when we received the 2007 CRI Best Performance in Australia and New Zealand Award and retained our gold ranking.
EnergyAustralia remains committed to promoting corporate responsibility within all relevant business activities. We believe ownership for the different components of corporate responsibility starts at the top level of management, our Executive Team.
Executive ownership of the key corporate responsibility principles are as follows:
- Executive General Manager Network – responsible for the Community and Marketplace issues
- Executive General Manager Enerserve – responsible for Environment and Workplace Occupational Health and Safety.
- Executive General Manager Finance & Corporate – responsible for Workplace issues, such as employee relations, equal opportunity, and human rights, as well as EnergyAustralia’s supply chain.
Whilst our Executive Team are responsible for overseeing these areas, it is the responsibility of all our employees and contractors to ensure our corporate responsibility principles are upheld.
