EnergyAustralia offers a range of courses and services for high voltage customers both within and outside our Network distribution area .
Some of our courses include:
Safe working practices course for high voltage operators and access permit issuers. (on or off-site)
This course is for persons who are required to operate high voltage equipment and issue or receive access permit to work on high voltage apparatus. It provides basic training to enable them to carry out operating work on high voltage systems in a safe manner, while minimising supply interruptions and damage to plant and equipment. It covers operating procedures, access permits and associated paperwork, and provides an introduction into electrical apparatus such as transformers, cables, switchgear, protection equipment and earthing systems.
Regulatory requirements
Advice on current regulatory requirements for entering substations/switchrooms, operating high voltage switchgear and issuing access permits.
Site specific high voltage operator training
In addition to, or in conjunction with the above course EnergyAustralia can provide site specific training to enable the attendees to be authorised by their employer to operate their respective networks.
Audits of authorisation and high voltage operating procedures
Review of current authorisation and high voltage operating procedures including access permit procedures. If required, EnergyAustralia can assist in the development of these procedures including all documentation.
