NMI discovery

If you decide to change your electricity retailer, you will need to know the unique meter number allocated to your premises when completing the relevant contract paperwork. This number is called the National Metering Identifier (NMI) and is printed on your electricity bill. If you change premises you will be allocated a new NMI.

If you cannot access your electricity bill, you can also find out your NMI by calling EnergyAustralia on 13 15 35 or submitting this online NMI request form.
