Network Prices

EnergyAustralia distributes electricity within a defined geographic area through a network of electrical infrastructure (substations, poles and wires).

All electrical distributors including EnergyAustralia charge energy retailers a fee which is passed onto the customer, for the use of the electrical network infrastructure, in the same way telecommunications companies charge a line rental fee.

The amount charged to customers for the use of the electrical network, is regulated by the 'Independent Pricing & Regulatory Tribunal' (IPART).
