EnergyAustralia customers will be moved to PowerSmart (time-based) pricing for all electricity usage and excess sold back to the grid when they install the new meter for their solar power system. Check with your electricity retailer to confirm what prices will apply for your energy consumption and any excess electricity you sell back to the grid.

Results from this calculator are based on solar panels located in the greater Sydney area, and operating under optimal conditions (ie. free from shading, north-facing and angled at around 30 degrees to horizontal). Actual solar energy production will vary from year to year depending on weather conditions.

The amount of excess energy sold back to the electricity grid will vary depending on your electricity consumption during daytime hours when the solar generator is operating. This calculator assumes that one third of your solar energy production is exported back to the electricity grid, and two thirds is consumed within your premises.
